    I’m not sure if the number of those was below average but a low number isn’t surprising to me given the ratio of advancers to decliners yesterday.

    Yesterday's index trend table:
    March 8th Trend Table
    vs. today's:
    March 9th trend table
    says it all!  Suddenly all those indices except for the Nasdaq 100 are under their 50 day moving averages.  A few of those other indices also broke their 200 DMAs today as well. 

    It's also notable that the % of Stocks Above Their 50-Day Moving Averages dropped to a new 2023 low today.  That indicator is essentially exactly where it was in late December, which is where the market rallied from.  If the market like's tomorrow's jobs report that could spark another bounce.  But it's just a roll of the dice. 

    Other things that stand out to me today are the unusually high number of Expansion Breakdown &
    Expansion Pivot Sell Setup     signals.  The disasters in SI & SIVB also make me wonder what other stocks could follow suit -- COIN?  Could be some good shorts in the Bitcoin related stocks.
