The company operates in four segments: Analog, Embedded Processing, Wireless, and Other. The Analog segment provides high and volume analog and logic products; power management semiconductors for portable devices, as well as line-powered systems; high performance analog products, such as amplifiers, data converters, and interface semiconductors for the industrial, communications, computing, and consumer electronics markets; and silicon valley analog products. The Embedded Processing segment offers digital signal processors that perform mathematical computations to process or enhance digital data; and microcontrollers, which are designed to control a set of specific tasks for electronic equipment. The Wireless segment provides applications processors, connectivity products, and baseband products. The Other segment offers DLP products that are used in projectors to create high-definition images; application-specific integrated circuits; and calculators, as well as licenses technologies to other electronics companies. The company markets and sells its products through a direct sales force, distributors, and third-party sales representatives. Texas Instruments Incorporated was founded in 1930 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
