Under normal market conditions, the fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by establishing long and short positions in the equity securities of companies that are involved in a publicly-announced significant corporate event, such as a merger or acquisition. It's portfolio may include equity securities issued by U.S. and non-U.S. companies, including American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), and derivatives, including total return swaps. The fund may invest in securities issued by small, mid and large capitalization issuers. It is non-diversified.

The investment seeks to provide investment results that closely correspond, before fees and expenses, to the performance of the FTSE Canada RIC Capped Index (the FTSE Canada Capped Index). Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of the FTSE Canada Capped Index and in depositary receipts representing such securities. The FTSE Canada Capped Index is based on the FTSE Canada Index and is designed to measure the performance of Canadian large- and mid-capitalization stocks.
