It offers applications for customers to manage critical business functions that enable them to optimize their financial and human capital resources. The company provides Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), a human resources and talent management application to help organize, staff, compensate, and develop a distributed workforce; Workday Payroll, a payroll application that allows customers to group employees, manage calculation rules, and pay employees; and Workday Financial Management, an unified application to manage financial processes for organizations. The company also offers Workday Time Tracking for organizations to collect, process, and distribute time data to manage time and labor for their workforce; Workday Procurement, which allows users to configure procurement business processes collaborating with suppliers; and Workday Employee Expense Management, a expense management system that automates configurable expense management business processes and leverages workers, roles, organizations, and security policies from Workday HCM. It serves technology, financial services, business services, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing, and consumer and retail industries, as well as education and government industries. The company was formerly known as North Tahoe Power Tools, Inc. and changed its name to Workday, Inc. in July 2005. Workday, Inc. was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Pleasanton, California.
