Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. designs and manufactures optical communications products for cable television (CATV), fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), and Internet data centers. It provides various CATV products, including CATV transmitters, CATV nodes, CATV return-receivers, Ethernet over coax access points, small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transmitters/receivers, cooled and uncooled laser diodes, and photodiodes; FTTH products comprising WDM-PON OLT modules, Gigabit Ethernet SFF products, video receiver modules, bi-directional and tri-port optical blocks, and laser chips; and Internet data center products, such as SFP transceivers and active optical cables. The company sells its products to CATV and telecommunications equipment manufacturers, and Internet data center operators through its direct and indirect sales channels worldwide. Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas.
