        Commercial Mortgage

        A commercial mortgage is a loan taken out on commercial real estate (as opposed to residential) with the property as collateral. Commercial mortgages are used to finance such commercial properties as mixed-use buildings, retail centers, and office buildings. The terms of a commercial mortgage are generally much longer than those of a residential mortgage, and the loan amounts can be much larger.
