United Fire Group, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, engages in writing property, casualty, and life insurance products; and selling fixed annuities in the United States. The company operates in two segments, Property and Casualty Insurance, and Life Insurance. The Property and Casualty Insurance segment offers commercial lines insurance, including surety bonds; personal lines insurance; and assumed reinsurance. The Life Insurance segment provides deferred and immediate annuities; universal life insurance products; and traditional life insurance, such as single premium whole life insurance products. United Fire Group, Inc. sells its products through a network of independent agencies to individuals and businesses. The company was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
