The company also offers vehicle maintenance and repair services; and is involved in the sale and placement of third-party finance and insurance products, third-party extended service and maintenance contracts, and replacement and aftermarket automotive products. As of March 5, 2013, it operated 344 retail automotive franchises, of which 170 franchises were located in 18 states and Puerto Rico; and 171 franchises were located outside the United States, primarily in the United Kingdom. The company also has operations in Germany and Italy. Penske Automotive Group, Inc. was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
