Farmland Partners Inc. is an internally managed real estate company that owns and seeks to acquire primary row crop farmland located in agricultural markets throughout North America. The majority of the farms in its portfolio are devoted to primary row crops, such as corn and soybeans. It also acquires properties related to farming, such as grain storage facilities, grain elevators, feedlots, processing plants and distribution centers, as well as livestock farms or ranches. Its principal investment focus to be on farmland that is suitable for primary row crops, which include grains (such as corn, wheat and rice), oilseeds (such as soybeans and rapeseed), forage crops (such as alfalfa, grass hay and corn silage) and cotton. Its portfolio consists of 38 farms with approximately 7,300 total acres, including 33 farms in Illinois, four farms in Nebraska and one farm in Colorado.
