It operates in two segments, Test & Measurement (T&M) and QuickLabel Systems (QuickLabel). The T&M segment offers a suite of rugged printer products designed for military and commercial applications for use in the avionics industry to print weather maps, communications, and other critical flight information. This segment also provides a suite of telemetry recorder products for the aerospace and defense industries, as well as portable data acquisition recorders, which offer diagnostic and test functions to a range of manufacturers, including automotive, energy, paper, and steel fabrication. The QuickLabel segment offers label printer hardware, labeling software, servicing contracts, and label and ink consumable products that digitally print color labels on a range of label and tag substrates. This segment's products include digital color and monochrome label printers, as well as consumables, such as labels, tags, inks, toners, and thermal transfer ribbons. The company markets and sells its products through direct sales personnel, manufacturer's representatives, and authorized dealers. Astro-Med, Inc. was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in West Warwick, Rhode Island.
