        Petroleum refiners are companies that process crude oil into a variety of products, such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil, asphalt, and other petroleum-based products. Refiners purchase crude oil from oil producers and then use a variety of processes to separate the different components of the crude oil into the desired products.
