The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides insurance and financial services to individual and business customers primarily in the United States and Japan. The company's Property & Casualty Commercial segment offers workers' compensation, property, automobile, marine, livestock, liability, and umbrella coverages, as well as customized insurance products and risk management services, including professional liability, fidelity, surety, and specialty casualty coverages. Its Consumer Markets segment provides standard automobile, homeowners, and home-based business coverages to individuals; and operates a member contact center for health insurance products that are offered through the AARP Health program. The company's Group Benefits segment offers group life, accident and disability coverage, group retiree health, and voluntary benefits to individual members of employer groups, associations, affinity groups, and financial institutions. The company's Mutual Funds segment provides mutual funds for retail accounts, such as retirement plans and 529 college savings plans; and investment-management and administrative services comprising product design, implementation, and oversight. The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. was founded in 1810 and is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut.
