The fund uses a "passive management" approach to track the performance, before fees and expenses, of the index. Under normal circumstances, at least 80% of the fund"s net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, will be invested in the component securities of the index. The index consists primarily of common stocks of U.S. publicly traded real estate investment trusts that focus on owning commercial and residential mortgages and mortgage-backed securities and to a lesser extent, publicly traded closed-end funds. It is non-diversified.

The investment seeks investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of an index. The fund employs a sampling strategy in seeking to track the performance of the S&P Emerging Markets Dividend Opportunities Index. It generally invests substantially all, but at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index, or in ADRs or GDRs based on securities comprising the index. The index is comprised of 100 of the highest yielding emerging markets stocks, based on market capitalization, in the S&P Dividend Opportunities family of indices.
