Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation engages in the development, marketing, sale, and management of vacation ownership and related products in the United States and internationally. It sells points-based and weeks-based vacation ownership products under the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations, and Marriott Vacation Club in Asia Pacific; resort residential real estate vacation ownership developments under the Grand Residences by Marriott; luxury vacation ownership products under the Ritz-Carlton Destination Club; and whole ownership luxury residential real estate under the Ritz-Carlton Residences brands. As of December 28, 2012, the company had 13,029 vacation ownership villas, and approximately 421,000 owners, as well as 10 locations, 694 residence villas and homes, and 3,200 owners in its luxury business in the United States and the Caribbean; 919 villas and 29,400 owners in Europe; and 344 villas and 15,800 owners in the Asia Pacific. It also operated 64 vacation ownership resorts, as well as approximately 421,000 owners of vacation ownership and residential products. In addition, the company offers consumer financing services to qualified purchasers of its vacation ownership products; and is involved in the rental of vacation ownership inventory. It sells its upscale tier vacation ownership products primarily through a worldwide network of resort-based sales centers and certain off-site sales locations. The company is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. As of November 21, 2011, Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation operates independently of Marriott International, Inc.
