Saga Communications, Inc., a broadcast company, primarily engages in acquiring, developing, and operating broadcast properties. It operates in two segments, Radio and Television. The company primarily owns and operates radio stations, radio information networks, television stations, and low-power television (LPTV) stations. Its radio stations employ various programming formats, including classic hits, adult contemporary, classic rock, news/talk, and country. The company also develops local programming, including a local news franchise in each of its television markets. As of February 28, 2013, it owned and/or operated 4 television stations and 4 LPTV stations serving 2 markets, 5 radio information networks, and 61 FM and 30 AM radio stations in 23 markets, including Bellingham, Washington; Columbus, Ohio; Norfolk, Virginia; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Manchester, New Hampshire; Des Moines, Iowa; and Joplin, Missouri. Saga Communications, Inc. was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
