PennyMac Financial Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the origination, priming, and servicing of residential mortgage loans in the United States. The company operates in two segments, Mortgage Banking and Investment Management. The Mortgage Banking segment provides correspondent conventional and government lending products; and originates residential conventional and government-insured mortgage loans to allow customers to purchase or refinance their homes. It also offers conventional and government-insured loans; and servicing activities for distressed whole loans that have been acquired as investments by its advised entities, as well as for loans in private-label securities. The Investment Management segment offers investment advisory and investment management services. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in Moorpark, California.
