Matthews International Corporation operates as a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of memorialization products and solutions for the cemetery and funeral home industries in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Its Cemetery Products segment provides cast bronze, granite, and other memorialization products; and bronze and aluminum architectural products, as well as builds mausoleums. The company's Funeral Home Products segment manufactures and distributes caskets; casket components; and other funeral home products, such as urns, jewelry, and stationery, as well as produces a range of wood, metal, and cremation caskets. The company's Cremation segment offers cremation systems, waste management/incineration systems, environmental and energy systems, service and supplies, crematory management/operations, cremation columbarium and niche units, and cremation urns and memorialization products. Its Graphics Imaging segment provides pre-press graphics services, printing plates, gravure cylinders, steel bases, embossing tools, special purpose machinery, engineering assistance, print process assistance, print production management, digital asset management, content management, and package design services primarily to the packaging and corrugated industries. The company's Marking and Fulfillment Systems segment offers a range of marking and coding equipment and consumables, industrial automation products, and order fulfillment systems used for identifying, tracking, picking, and conveying consumer and industrial products. Its Merchandising Solutions segment provides merchandising, retail graphics, and printing solutions for brand owners and retailers; and designs and manufactures merchandising displays and systems, as well as provides creative merchandising and marketing solutions. The company was founded in 1850 and is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
