Community Bank System, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for Community Bank, N.A. that provides banking and financial services to retail, commercial, and municipal customers. The company's deposit products comprise checking, savings, and money market accounts, as well as time deposits. Its loan portfolio includes consumer mortgage loans, business lending loans, consumer direct and indirect installment loans, and home equity loans. The company, through its other subsidiaries, also provides broker-dealer and investment advisory services; offers asset management services to individuals, corporate pension and profit sharing plans, and foundations; and operates as a full-service insurance agency primarily offering property and casualty insurance products. In addition, it offers contribution plan administration services, collective investment fund administration and institutional trust services, and actuarial and benefit consultation services to the sponsors of employee benefit plans. As of April 22, 2013, Community Bank System, Inc. operated approximately 180 customer facilities across Upstate New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in DeWitt, New York.
