Lipid storage disorders are a group of inherited metabolic disorders caused by the accumulation of lipids (fats) in the body's cells. These disorders can affect the liver, muscles, and/or other organs. Symptoms vary depending on the type of disorder, but can include enlarged liver, muscle weakness, and/or neurological problems. Treatment typically involves dietary changes, medications, and/or enzyme replacement therapy.
