- Certificate Of Deposit Account Registry Service
The Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS) is a service that allows banks and credit unions to offer their customers access to multi-million-dollar FDIC insurance on deposits. It works by allowing customers to place their funds in multiple banks and credit unions, each of which is FDIC insured up to the maximum amount allowed by law. This allows customers to have access to larger amounts of FDIC insurance than they would be able to get from a single bank or credit union.
