Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) is a common infection of the upper airways, including the nose, throat, sinuses, and larynx. It is usually caused by a virus, such as the common cold, and can also be caused by bacteria. Symptoms of a URI include a runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing, sneezing, and sometimes a fever. Treatment usually involves rest, fluids, and over-the-counter medications.
