Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, an investment holding company, engages in computer-aided designing, manufacturing, testing, packaging, and trading integrated circuits (ICs) and other semiconductor services. It is also involved in the designing and manufacturing of semiconductor masks. The company's products include logic semiconductors, such as basebands, microprocessors, digital signal processors, and application processors; mixed-signal and radio frequency semiconductors for wired and wireless connectivity applications; and high voltage semiconductors for display driver integrated circuits, power supplies, power management, telecommunications, automotive electronics, and industrial controls. In addition, it offers memory products, including static random access memory, electrically erasable programmable read-only memory, flash memory, and embedded NVM for IC cards; complementary metal oxide silicon image sensors for use in camera-related systems; micro electrical and mechanical systems; and integrated passive devices. Further, the company provides integrated solutions, such as design support services; libraries and intellectual property services; mask-making services; and wafer probing, assembling, and testing services. It serves integrated device manufacturers, fables semiconductor companies, and system companies principally in the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Shanghai, the People's Republic of China.
