The L.S. Starrett Company manufactures and sells industrial, professional, and consumer measuring and cutting tools and related products primarily in North America, Brazil, China, and the United Kingdom. The company's product portfolio includes precision tools, non-contact industrial measurement systems, electronic gages, gage blocks, optical vision and laser measuring equipment, custom engineered granite solutions, tape measures, levels, chalk products, squares, and band saw blades, as well as M1 lubricant and precision ground flat stock. It also provides hand measuring tools and precision instruments, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gages, depth gages, dial indicators, steel rules, and combination squares, as well as custom and non-contact gaging and other items; and complementary saw products, including hack, jig, and reciprocating saw blades, as well as hole saws that provide cutting solutions for the building trades and are offered primarily through construction, electrical, plumbing, and retail distributors. In addition, the company offers force measurement and material test equipment, Field of View software under the vision platform, and laser based measurement systems. It serves the metalworking industry; automotive, aviation, marine, farm, and do-it-yourself customers; and tradesmen, such as builders, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. The company was founded in 1880 and is headquartered in Athol, Massachusetts.
