It primarily engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. The company generates electricity using coal, nuclear, natural gas, solar, and wind energy. It also provides regulated transmission and distribution services. As of December 31, 2011, the company had a total net generation capacity of approximately 2,347 megawatts. It serves approximately 730,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers and end-users of electricity in New Mexico and Texas. The company was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
