Penn National Gaming, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, owns and manages gaming and pari-mutuel properties in the United States and Canada. It engages in gaming on slot machines and table games. The company is also involved in the hotel, dining, retail, admissions, program sales, concessions, and other ancillary activities; and racing operations. As of May 10, 2013, it operated 29 facilities in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, and Ontario. The company was formerly known as PNRC Corp. and changed its name to Penn National Gaming, Inc. in May 1994. Penn National Gaming, Inc. was founded in 1972 and is based in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.
