Greene County Bancorp, Inc. operates as a holding company for The Bank of Greene County that provides banking products and services in Greene County, Columbia County, and southern Albany County, New York. Its deposit products include savings, NOW accounts, money market accounts, and individual retirement accounts, as well as certificates of deposit and non-interest bearing checking accounts. The company's loan portfolio consists of residential mortgage loans; nonresidential mortgages and multifamily loans; consumer loans, such as loans on new and used automobiles, secured or unsecured personal loans, and home equity loans, as well as consumer installment loans that include passbook loans, unsecured home improvement loans, recreational vehicle loans, and deposit account overdrafts; and commercial loans. As of October 24, 2012, it operated 12 branch offices. The company was founded in 1889 and is based in Catskill, New York. Greene County Bancorp, Inc. is a subsidiary of Greene County Bancorp, MHC.
