The company provides hardlines, including sporting goods equipment, fitness equipment, golf equipment, and hunting and fishing gear products; apparel; and footwear products. As of August 3, 2013, it operated 527 Dick's Sporting Goods stores in 44 states with approximately 28.7 million square feet and 81 Golf Galaxy stores in 30 states with approximately 1.4 million square feet; and eCommerce websites and catalog operations. The company was formerly known as Dick’s Clothing and Sporting Goods, Inc. and changed its name to Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc. in April 1999. Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
