It also provides merchandise under the seasonal category that includes lawn and garden, Christmas, summer, and other holiday departments; hardlines and toys category, which comprises toys, appliances, tools, paint, and home maintenance departments; and electronics and other category that includes electronics, jewelry, infant accessories, and apparel departments. As of August 3, 2013, it operated approximately 1,514 BIG LOTS stores in the United States, 3 BIG LOTS stores in Canada, and 76 LIQUIDATION WORLD and LW stores in Canada. Big Lots, Inc. was founded in 1967 and is based in Columbus, Ohio.
