MFS Charter Income Trust is a close ended fixed income mutual fund launched and managed by Massachusetts Financial Services Company. The fund invests in the fixed income markets across the globe. It invests primarily in corporate bonds of U.S. and/or foreign issuers, U.S. Government securities, foreign government securities, mortgage-backed and other asset-backed securities of U.S. and/or foreign issuers, and/or debt instruments of issuers located in emerging market countries. The fund employs a combination of quantitative and fundamental analysis with a bottom-up approach to build its portfolio. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Barclays U.S. High-Yield Corporate Bond 2% issuer Capped Index and the MFS Charter Income Trust Blended Index.
