When do I buy more?

by EnthusiasticCheetah503 7 months ago

Hello guys, yesterday I found this site and I think it's great at first glance! I have entered my portfolio and would now like to use the site to buy or sell my stocks at the right time.

I just don't really understand the grade rating, for example.
An A rating usually has a bullish value in the short, medium and long term. That would be far too late to get started.

So far I'm looking at indicators like the RSI14 to identify an overbought area. Since you never catch the low point, I always wait until the 50MA breaks through the 200MA from bottom to top and then buy ( Golden Cross ).

How can I now set an alarm for my portfolio in swingtradebot that will give me the Golden Cross at exactly this point in time for one of my stocks?

Is this practice called a swing trade?
Do you have another way or a better tip on how I can find an good entry-level course?

Thanks for your support

The FAQ explains that the grades are essentially a relative strength rating.  It also links to this article which goes more in depth and tells you how I think they're best put to use.  You're correct in that A rated stocks are usually already trending higher.  The grades tell you what has already happened.  If you're looking to buy weakness you should (usually) not be looking at A rated stocks.

As for alerting you to a Golden Cross in your portfolio, that's what the "recent signals" section of the portfolio page is for.  Any golden crosses on one of your portfolio stocks will appear there.

Many thanks for your response!

If I want to be informed about a Golden Cross via a push message on my smartphone, do I activate "Reversed from Down" and "Reversed from Up" in the Intraday Alerts section?

Is there an FAQ for the other alarms there? The names of the signals listed there are unknown to me

The push notifications are only for the Intraday Alerts.  The Golden Cross is an End-of-Day signal.  The end of day alerts are all defined here (reachable via the Research Menu -> End of Day Scans -> Scan / Signal Definitions).
