Glycogen storage disorder (GSD) is a group of inherited metabolic disorders caused by defects in the enzymes involved in the metabolism of glycogen, a form of sugar stored in the body. These disorders can cause a wide range of symptoms, including low blood sugar, enlarged liver, muscle weakness, and growth problems. Treatment typically involves dietary changes, medications, and/or enzyme replacement therapy.
