- Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient Devices
Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) devices are self-resetting overcurrent protection devices that are used to protect circuits from overcurrent and short circuit conditions. They are made of a polymeric material that has a positive temperature coefficient, meaning that as the temperature of the device increases, its resistance increases. This allows the device to act as a fuse, limiting the current that can flow through the circuit.
