U.S. Energy Corp., an independent energy company, focuses on the acquisition and development of oil and gas producing properties in the continental United States. The company operates in two segments, Oil and Gas and Maintenance of Mineral Properties. It focuses in the Rocky Mountain region principally the Williston Basin of North Dakota and Montana, as well as Louisiana and Texas. As of December 31, 2012, the company had estimated proved reserves of 2,913,324 barrels of oil equivalent. It has 152,283 gross acres of leases; and 87 gross producing wells. The company also owns the Mount Emmons molybdenum deposit located in west central Colorado; and holds interests in geothermal properties. In addition, it owns Remington Village, a multi-family housing project serving the residential market in Gillette, Wyoming. The company was founded in 1966 and is headquartered in Riverton, Wyoming.
