Powell Industries, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, and markets custom engineered-to-order equipment and systems for the management and control of electrical energy and other critical processes worldwide. It operates in two segments, Electrical Power Products and Process Control Systems. The Electrical Power Products segment offers integrated power control room substations, traditional and arc-resistant medium-voltage distribution switchgears, medium-voltage circuit breakers, offshore generator and control modules, monitoring and control communication systems, motor control centers, and bus duct systems. This segment serves oil and gas producers, oil and gas pipelines, refineries, petrochemical plants, electrical power generators, public and private utilities, co-generation facilities, mining/metals operations, pulp and paper plants, transportation authorities, governmental agencies, and other large industrial customers. The Process Control Systems segment provides DYNAC software suit of operations management solutions; and technical services, such as instrumentation, computer controls, communications, and data management systems to control and manage critical processes, as well as designs systems for various transit facilities and roadways. This segment sells its products and services to the transportation, environmental, and energy sectors. Powell Industries, Inc. was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
