        Net Smelter Return

        Net Smelter Return (NSR) is a royalty payment made to the owner of a mineral deposit for the sale of minerals extracted from the deposit. It is calculated as a percentage of the gross revenue from the sale of the minerals, minus certain deductions such as transportation and refining costs. NSR payments are typically made to the mineral rights owner by the mining company that extracts the minerals.
