Immune Checkpoint

Immune checkpoint inhibitors are a type of cancer treatment that works by blocking certain proteins made by some types of immune system cells. These proteins, known as checkpoints, help keep the immune system from attacking normal cells in the body. By blocking these checkpoints, the immune system is able to recognize and attack cancer cells. Immune checkpoint inhibitors are used to treat a variety of cancers, including melanoma, lung cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer.
