Summit Midstream Partners, LP focuses on the ownership and operation of midstream energy infrastructure assets, primarily shale formations in North America. It offers natural gas gathering and compression services. The company operates in two unconventional resource basins, consisting of the Piceance Basin, which includes the Mesaverde formation, and the Mancos and Niobrara shale formations in western Colorado; and the Fort Worth Basin that comprises the Barnett Shale formation in north-central Texas. As of December 31, 2012, its gathering systems had approximately 399 miles of pipeline. The company serves natural gas producers. Summit Midstream GP, LLC operates as a general partner of the company. Summit Midstream Partners, LP was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with additional regional offices in Houston, Texas, Denver, Colorado, and Atlanta, Georgia.
