It offers trading on various exchanges and facilities across asset classes, including cash equities, derivatives, debt, commodities, structured products, and exchange traded funds; market data products, financial indexes, capital formation solutions, financial services, and market technology products and services, as well as clearing, settlement, and depository services. The company also provides trade reporting and trade comparison services, and risk management services; and broker services comprising technology and customized securities administration solutions to financial participants. In addition, it offers global listing services; technology solutions for trading, clearing, settlement, and information dissemination; and facility management integration, surveillance solutions, and advisory services, as well as develops and licenses NASDAQ OMX branded indexes, associated derivatives, and financial products. As of May 6, 2013, the company owned and operated 24 markets, 3 clearinghouses, and 5 central securities depositories with approximately 3,300 listed companies. It offers approximately 4,000 indexes. The company offers technology solutions to approximately 70 exchanges, clearing organizations, and central securities depositories in approximately 50 countries; and surveillance technology to 11 regulators and 71 brokers worldwide. The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. has strategic partnership with World Steel Exchange Marketing, LLC to develop financially settled steel and steel scrap futures products to be traded on the NASDAQ OMX Futures Exchange, Inc. The company was formerly known as The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. and changed its name to The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. in February 2008. The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. was founded in 1971 and is headquartered in New York, New York.
