Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. provides trade finance services to corporations, sovereign, middle-market companies, and banking and financial institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. It operates in two segments, Commercial and Treasury. The company offers traditional trade finance products, including loans and revolving credit, short-term trade finance, commercial letters of credit, stand-by letters of credit, reimbursement undertakings, banker's acceptances, and discounted notes; structured finance products, such as guarantees of official export development programs, receivable financing by private insurance companies, and trade credit forfaiting or vendor finance; and syndicated structured financing and leasing services. It is also involved in the investments and hedging activities. The company was formerly known as Banco Latinoamericano de Exportaciones, S.A. and changed its name to Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. in June 2009. Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. was founded in 1977 and is headquartered in Panama, the Republic of Panama.
