Ameris Bancorp is an American financial holding company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Ameris provides retail and commercial banking services to its customers in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee through its wholly owned subsidiary Ameris Bank. Ameris Bancorp was incorporated on December 18, 1980 as ABC Holding Company to act as parent company to American Banking Company. As of December 31, 2015, Ameris had approximately $5.59 billion in total assets, $4.02 billion in total loans, $4.88 billion in total deposits and $514.8 million in stockholder equity.
