Nasdaq, Inc. is a U.S.-headquartered multinational financial services corporation that owns and operates the Nasdaq stock market in the United States and eight European Stock Exchanges: the Armenia Securities Exchange, Nasdaq Copenhagen, Nasdaq Helsinki, Nasdaq Iceland, Nasdaq Riga, Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Tallinn, and Nasdaq Vilnius. It is headquartered in New York City, and its president and chief executive officer is Adena Friedman.
Nasdaq's largest shareholder is the Swedish Wallenberg family through Investor AB, a holding company that one of Nasdaq's stock exchanges also lists (Nasdaq Stockholm: INVE B). The Wallenberg family's involvement in Nasdaq originates from Nasdaq's merger with OMX, in which Investor AB is the largest shareholder.

In 2015, the legal entity OMX AB was renamed Nasdaq AB, but it also operates under the alias Nasdaq OMX AB. The operations have been part of Nasdaq, Inc. (formerly known as Nasdaq OMX Group) since February 2008.Nasdaq Nordic has two divisions: OMX Exchanges, which operates eight stock exchanges mainly in the Nordic, Baltic countries and Caucasus regions of Europe, as well as OMX Technology, which develops and markets systems for financial transactions used by OMX Exchanges, as well as by other stock exchanges.
