The First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF is an exchange-traded fund. The investment objective of the Fund is to seek investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield, before the Fund's fees and expenses, of an index called the Nasdaq US Smart Transportation Index. The Fund seeks to replicate the holdings and weightings of the Nasdaq US Smart Transportation Index so as to generate performance results 95% correlated to that of the Nasdaq US Smart Transportation Index.

The investment seeks investment results that generally correspond (before fees and expenses) to the price and yield of the NASDAQ International BuyBack AchieversTM Index (the "underlying index"). The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the underlying index. Strictly in accordance with its guidelines and mandated procedures, the NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. ("NASDAQ OMX" or the "Index Provider") includes in the underlying index common stocks of foreign companies that are classified as "International BuyBack AchieversTM" pursuant to a proprietary selection methodology.
