W&T Offshore, Inc., an independent oil and natural gas producer, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration, development, and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties. The company has operations offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and onshore in the Permian Basin of West Texas and in East Texas. It holds working interests in approximately 72 offshore fields in federal and state waters. The company has interests in offshore leases covering approximately 1.4 million gross acres, including 710,000 gross acres on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf; 480,000 gross acres in the deepwater; and 220,000 gross acres onshore in Texas. Its estimated proved reserves totaled 117.5 MMBoe. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
