Wright Medical Group, Inc., an orthopedic medical device company, engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of devices and biologic products for the extremity, hip, and knee repair and reconstruction. The company operates through two segments, Extremities and OrthoRecon. The Extremities segment offers products that are used in foot and ankle repair; upper extremity products, and biologics products, which are used to replace damaged or diseased bone to stimulate bone growth and to provide other biological solutions for surgeons and their patients. This segment also provides hardware solutions, including implants and other devices to replace or reconstruct injured or diseased joints and bones of the foot, ankle, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as surgical solutions for the foot and ankle market. The OrthoRecon segment includes products that are used primarily to replace or repair knee, hip, and bones that have deteriorated or have been damaged through disease or injury. The company sells its products primarily through a network of employee sales representatives and independent sales representatives in the United States, as well as through stocking distributors. It operates in the United States, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Canada. The company was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Arlington, Tennessee.
