Wayne Savings Bancshares, Inc. operates as the holding company for Wayne Savings Community Bank, a community-oriented institution that provides consumer and business financial services to individuals, business, and other organizations in northeast Ohio. It accepts various consumer and commercial deposits, which include checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, term certificate of deposit accounts, and individual retirement accounts. The company also originates one-to four-family residential, multi-family residential, construction, non-residential real estate and land, commercial business, and consumer loans, as well as home equity loans and equity lines of credit collateralized by a second mortgage on the borrower's principal residence. In addition, it invests in mortgage-backed securities, state and political subdivisions, and private-label collateralized mortgage obligations, as well as other liquid investments, such as United States Government securities, federal funds, and deposits in other financial institutions. The company operates 11 full-service offices in Wayne, Holmes, Ashland, Medina, and Stark counties. Wayne Savings Bancshares, Inc. was founded in 1899 and is headquartered in Wooster, Ohio.
