Synalloy Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, engages in metals and specialty chemicals businesses in the United States and internationally. It operates in two segments, Metals and Specialty Chemicals. The Metals segment manufactures and markets welded pipes; fabricates piping systems from carbon, chrome, stainless steel, and other alloys; and manufactures liquid storage solutions and separation equipment. It serves the chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, mining, power generation, water and waste water treatment, liquid natural gas, brewery, food processing, petroleum, pharmaceutical, and other industries. The Specialty Chemicals Segment produces specialty chemicals and dyes for the carpet, chemical, paper, metals, mining, agricultural, fiber, paint, textile, automotive, petroleum, cosmetics, mattress, furniture, janitorial, and other industries; and specialty formulations and intermediates, primarily focusing on the areas of defoamers, surfactants, and lubricating agents for use in various applications and industries. Synalloy Corporation sells its stainless steel pipes through authorized stocking distributors under the BRISMET trade name; fabrication systems to engineering firms and construction companies or directly to project owners through outside sales employees under the Synalloy Fabrication, BristolFab, Bristol Piping Systems, and Ram-Fab trade names; and specialty chemicals through outside sales employees and manufacturers' representatives. The company was formerly known as Blackman Uhler Industries, Inc. and changed its name to Synalloy Corporation in July 1967. Synalloy Corporation was founded in 1945 and is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
