Southern National Bancorp of Virginia, Inc. operates as the bank holding company of Sonabank that provides commercial banking services to middle market corporate clients and retail clients in the United States. Its deposit products include non-interest-bearing and interest-bearing checking accounts, commercial checking accounts, money market accounts, savings accounts, and certificates of deposit. The companys loan products portfolio comprises commercial mortgage and non-mortgage loans, including commercial real estate loans, construction to permanent loans, development and builder loans, accounts receivable financing, lines of credit, equipment and vehicle loans, leasing, and commercial overdraft protection; small business administration loans and stand-by letters of credit; home equity lines of credit; and secured and unsecured consumer loans primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. It also offers cash management services comprising investment/sweep, zero balance, and controlled disbursement accounts; and wire transfer, employer/payroll processing, night depository, lockbox, depository transfers, merchant, ACH originations, business debit cards, check 21 processing, and asset based lending services. In addition, the company offers other consumer/retail products and services that include debit and credit cards, ATM services, travelers checks, savings bonds, notary services, wire transfers, and online banking with bill payment services. As of July 25, 2013, it operated through 15 branches in Fairfax County, in Charlottesville, Warrenton, Middleburg, Leesburg, South Riding, Front Royal, New Market, Haymarket, Richmond, and Clifton Forge, Virginia; and 5 branches in Rockville, Shady Grove, Germantown, Frederick, and Bethesda, Maryland. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in McLean, Virginia.
