Everest Re Group, Ltd., through its subsidiaries, underwrites reinsurance and insurance products. It operates in four segments: U.S. Reinsurance, Insurance, International, and Bermuda. The U.S. Reinsurance segment writes property and casualty reinsurance, including marine, aviation, surety, and accident and health insurance on both a treaty and facultative basis, through reinsurance brokers, as well as directly with ceding companies in the Unites States. The Insurance segment offers property and casualty insurance, such as medical stop loss insurance directly and through general agents, brokers, and surplus lines brokers in the United States and Canada. The International segment writes non-U.S. property and casualty reinsurance in Canada, Singapore, Brazil, Miami, and New Jersey. The Bermuda segment provides reinsurance and insurance to worldwide property and casualty markets through brokers, as well as directly with ceding companies; and reinsurance to the United Kingdom and European markets. Everest Re Group, Ltd. was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda.
