Pixelworks, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, and markets video and pixel processing semiconductors, and software for digital video applications. Its products include ImageProcessor integrated circuits (ICs), which comprise embedded microprocessors, digital signal processing technology, and software that control the operations and signal processing within high-end display systems, such as projectors and high-resolution flat panels; Video Co-Processor ICs that work in conjunction with an image processor to post-process video signals to enhance the performance or feature set of the overall video solution; and Networked Display ICs, which allow the same video stream to be networked across multiple displays. The company is also involved in the license of its integrated circuit semiconductor products technologies to customers and partners. Pixelworks, Inc. serves the manufacturers of digital display and projection devices, such as liquid crystal display (LCD) large-screen televisions and 3LCD, and digital light processing digital front projectors, as well as the flat panel display market, including digital signage. The company sells its products through its direct sales force, distributors, and manufacturers' representatives primarily in Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the United States. Pixelworks, Inc. was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in San Jose, California.
