Owens Realty Mortgage, Inc., a real estate investment trust, invests in commercial real estate mortgage loans primarily in the Western United States. It invests in first, second, and third mortgage and deed of trust loans; wraparound and participating mortgage and deed of trust loans; construction mortgage and deed of trust loans on real property; and loans on leasehold interest mortgages and deeds of trust. The company's mortgage loans are secured by mortgages on unimproved, improved, income-producing, and non-income-producing real properties, such as condominium projects, apartment complexes, shopping centers, office buildings, and other commercial or industrial properties. As of December 31, 2012, it held investments in 24 mortgage loans primarily in Northern California, as well as in Arizona, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Washington. Owens Financial Group, Inc. serves as the manager of Owens Realty Mortgage, Inc. The company was formerly known as Owens Mortgage Investment Fund and changed its name to Owens Realty Mortgage, Inc. in May 2013. Owens Realty Mortgage, Inc. was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Walnut Creek, California.
